Rare Rig of 7 Bluebill Decoys Repainted by Ira Hudson family C 1940s
One of a kind rig of 7 Bluebill Decoys Repainted by Ira Hudson and family Circa 1940s. All have the same exact paint pattern. Unknown carvers except for a Charles Jester, a factory bird and one reheaded by Hudson. Some great history here! I can only imagine how large the original rig of birds the hunter brought to Hudson’s shop!!
Some of these birds were originally in the John Hillman collection. See photo on page 91 of the 1981 Waterfowl Festival booklet. Several birds are in the top left of the photo.
