8 Decoys from the rig of Warren Willis Sharp owner of Boake Fish Co. MN C1900
Provenance- In the same family for five generations. First used by Warren Willis Sharp, owner of the R.B. Boake Fish Co., of St. Paul, MN., then by his son Robert W. Sharp who was a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service biologist based at Fort Snelling, MN. Used at White Bear Lake, Mille Lacs Lake, and other central Minnesota waters.
Last image is of W.W. Sharp, his boat and several of his decoys, possibly taken at White Bear Lake, MN. c. 1910.
I picked up this old rig of decoys a few years ago. The Redheads and Mallard are very folky. I really like the Canvasbacks. Long thin bodies with inletted weights. The seller said she was the granddaughter of the guy in the picture. Warren Willis Sharp. I have included some cool old pictures and the provenance she sent me. Also an old wooden Boak Fish Co. box I found on eBay.
Condition: All 8 are in good to very good condition. Most with working repaint. Some have some original paint as well. One of the Canvasbacks has all OP. I had my friend Bruce Eppard put a bill on the mallard and fix the head and neck on 2 of the others.
